Llanfyllin, nestled in the Welsh foothills just over the border from Shrewsbury is an ideal place to bring the whole family - or get away from them! Peaceful and tranquil, there's not a great deal to remind you of the tireless pace of modern day living; allowing a real break from it all.
Getting to Llanfyllin
From Shrewsbury take the A458 Welshpool road and TURN RIGHT just beyond Ford Village along the B4393 (signposted Lake Vyrnwy). Make for Llansantffraid-Ym-Mechain : TURN LEFT just beyond the bridge and TURN RIGHT at the far end of the village. In approximately 4 miles, TURN RIGHT onto the A490 at the T-Junction. The A490 ends in the town.
From the north visitors who are travelling from Oswestry on the A483 to Welshpool need to TURN RIGHT for Llansantffraid at Llynclys cross-roads. Then simply follow signs to Llanfyllin.
From Newtown simply take the A483 to Welshpool and then the A490 to Llanfyllin (you will need to cross the A495)
Once in Llanfyllin follow the main road through to the center of town; the Cain Valley hotel is on the right, facing the town square. You've arrived!
